General Information

Evaluate normal and abnormal cells in a variety of disease states for serous fluids. Assists in the diagnosis of systemic disease, inflammation, infection, trauma, and malignancy.


If joint aspiration, order CCSF.

Specimen Type

Pericardial, pleural, or peritoneal fluids. For BAL sample type, order BAL.

EDTA (lavender) or sodium heparin (green) tube
